I would review it higher, but the food ranges to from only OK, to inedible slop depending on the staff. This from someone who lives near, I've eaten enough times to get a good sample size. Biggest complaint, they leave warm dry burritos in sealed containers. They get soggy in about 3 minutes, so if your dry burrito was made first, tough break, you now have a soggy log that you can't eat with your hands.
Really great food that we enjoyed. It's a casual counter type setting which is not fancy but the food was really good and the people we dealt with were very friendly.
Reasonably priced and great food! The service was awesome as well! Thanks for a great meal!
Good food made to order. Very fresh and tasty
Excellent place to grab a quick bite and avoid high prices at the resorts.
If you need Mex...this is decent.
I eat here all the time, food is really good and employees/owners are always polite and take care of there customers !!
I have loved and supported these guys for many years but the last 8-9 times I’ve tried to ‘support them’ during covid I’ve been turned away as it was close to closing. Within a few minutes, but they don’t post their hours as of now anyways and when you race to get there, then to be told too late every single time I can’t help but wonder if there’s new owners or a change in management? Anyways, the food is decent but I really liked the ‘mom and pop’ vibe and wanted to see them continue to grow. So maybe, they just don’t the business like they did before? Anyways, maybe your experience will be better. Just call ahead and go very early (there’s no line...) but no food after 6:30pm!!! Period haha mahalo
Great place for California/Mex/Hawaii food. The owners are awesome
This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in the state. I love the nachos, burritos and tacos! Thank you, Los Tres Mex! 😀
My Mexican gf and I were craving some good Mexican here on the island and this place delivered. Very good! Good prices.
Great food and staff
Best Mexican food on the island!Their Carnitas are out of this world.Good size portions, owner operated good quality.
Small place but good food my wife had the fish tacos and loved them I had the chimichanga it was also good the only complaint I would say it would say it was slow.#localguide
coming from California. My husband and I have been trying to find a really good Mexican food restaurant here in the big island. This is absolutely wonderful.
Very good food. We’ve been there almost every night during our stay.
I've been going almost weekly since they opened. Excellent!
I was very impressed how authentic thisMexican food was so far removed from the mainland, and Mexico itself. Their enchiladas come highly recommended for good reason - they use mole as the sauce instead of red or green sauce. Extremely good food, and highly recommended.
Used to be good food but i would not recommend for anyone that likes Mexican food, they microwave everything and my food was still cold when i got it
Food was OKService was pretty slowLocation was basic. Meh.
Really yummy food.
Huge KUDOS and MAHALOS to Los Tres Mex in Waikoloa Village. I called in an order for dinner tonight and they told me they were short handed and only had pick up. When I explained that we were in quarantine, they found someone to run our order over to us. They are truly excellent neighbors (and they have fabulous food too!). Just wanted to give them a Shout Out!
Authentic Mexican cuisine! Way to much food for what you pay. Ask for extra salsa cups or just buy a pint of it. Must stop if you love Mexican food
Friendly service. 'ono food.
Great food!!! Don't judge a book by it's cover. It has moved into the food court. Really good food with good prices. Large menu with daily specials. Buy local.
Real hole-in-the-wall place with delicious food at extremely reasonable prices. It's not _quite_ as good as Lucy's that I've got back home, but it's one of the few great Mexican restaurants on any of the Hawaiian islands. My wife and I came here three times over the course of five days; might've gone more frequently too if we weren't driving all over exploring the various locations on the island.Note: there's only outdoor seating here. The restaurant is basically a small shack that shares outdoor space with a couple other places. That's not bad, by any means, but if you were looking for someplace either indoor or with table service, this isn't the place you're looking for.
Scrumptious chimichanga plate!
Friendly service, big portions, great price. If you’re craving authentic Mexican food, this is the place to come. I thought I wouldn’t be able to find any good Mexican food on the big island but this place satisfied all of my cravings. The food takes a little while to make and there are usually quite a few people so just sit back and relax because it might take a moment.
Friendly place with delicious food at reasonable prices. Part of a small food court at the shopping center in Waikoloa Village.
Very good authentic tasting Mexican. Best fish tacos I had in a very sneaky location. Definitely a no frills establishment but great specials and flavors
Good food, sometimes there is a little bit of a wait so you should call in your order in advance if you are in a hurry.
I love this food if you want some good Mexican food come here you wont be disappointed ...I promise
Honestly the best Mexican food in Hawaii. This place beats 'Bertos.
Best Mexican food on this side of the island and some of the friendliest folks in Waikoloa! Everything is great and the spicy red salsa is not to be missed! We go once or twice every week.
Dependably decent Mexcan fare, large portions, and good value for your dollar. Tres Mex is the usual option for us when too busy to cook and we need a quick dinner. Can be busy and slow on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Excellent burritos
Great spot for a quick bite. Location is a small food court with multiple options. Salsa is nice and spicy.
The wait time seemed long for what we ordered, but it was worth the wait. It was very good Mexican food, and I like to think I have high standards since I'm from the Western States. The beef enchiladas we're good and the pork quesadilla was incredible. The prices were very cheap for Hawaii. Would definitely come here again if I were staying longer.
Good attention. But the menu is not what you expect from good tacos. I'm sorry for the comment, but they need to improve.
Best Mexican Food on the Big Island!! Big Portions Reasonably Priced..
Great food and amazing fried ice cream at great prices!
Stumbled upon this little mom-'n'-pop joint on my way back from Mauna Kea and hoping to avoid the standard fare at my hotel. Delicious, authentic Mission-style burritos were served by a friendly couple. Loved that 10+ varieties of hot sauce were available. This was the best food value of my Big Island trip, hands down. Food took a while to be ready, but this was not unexpected given the apparent staffing and operating constraints.
Had the grande burrito, and it WAS good! Good Mexican food in the village!
We wanted Mexican food, so decided to go to Los Tres Mex while we on Big Island. The a place is a little kiosk, the seats are outside. It was evening and very windy. My daughter and I are vegan so we ordered nachos, but asked to make it vegan. It had beans, guacamole and pico de gallo. Also, we ordered side of beans and rice. It was more the enough for two of us.
We ordered the cheese enchiladas and beef tacos. Loved them! The rice was delicious too. Low priced and no nonsense. 😊
AMAZING food. Very tasty and fresh. Great service. Very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff.
Real Mexican food right in Waikoloa Village. Their house salsa is so good I always get extra. It's fresh. We haven't had anything here we didn't like. It's all good.
Good food, large portion, and good price for the area
Got plenty to eat the burrito was huge the two taco meal was also good.
QUESADILLA WAS AMAZING!!! So far the best Quesadilla I’ve had on the Big Island! The flavors were authentic Mexican with generous portions of traditionally cooked soft chicken inside. You also get a side of salsa which was good. And a side of sour cream. On top of that you get the opinion of adding dice tomatoes. I got them on the side. And the price!!! Only $7 bucks! Can’t beat that! Next time I’m buying two. I’m definitely going back. Can’t wait to try out the other items on the menu.
